This weekend I popped along to Bath Vintage & Antiques Market, which is held the first and last Sunday of every month at Green Park Station and is chock-a-block with retro goodies. Although I could’ve come away with enough floral teacups to open a small cafe (and believe me I was tempted) I managed to keep my modest purchases sewing-related – I got two vintage dress patterns and some cute flower buttons for just £6. Can’t wait to use them!
I also stopped by the Holburne Museum to see Julie Verhoeven’s super-crazy installation, ‘Ladies Let’s Rip’, which was part of the Bath in Fashion and was sponsored by the School of Art & Design at Bath Spa University. Julie has collaborated with the likes of Louis Vuitton, John Galliano, Versace, Loewe, Mulberry, Topshop and H&M and is known for her multi-disciplined and often surreal work that spans both art and fashion. And surreal this certainly is!
I’m in Bath tomorrow, I will certainly pop along to the Holburne to take a look. Good post!
It’s definitely worth checking out! If you’ve got time I recommend the 50 Fabulous Frocks exhibition at the Fashion Museum too if you haven’t been already (I’ll be posting on that shortly too!)
I love “Ladies Let’s Rip”.
Looking forward to seeing your patterns made up.
It might be a while yet – got to find the right fabric first which is always a tricky decision!
