The generous peeps at Minerva Crafts sent me this lovely fabric for the Minerva Crafts Blogger Challenge earlier this year. A few sewing machine niggles kept me from completing it until just before the festive season; although it was a long time in the making, I’m really pleased with the end result.

The fabric from Minerva is, as usual, great quality and really stylish. I chose it to add a modern twist to a vintage pattern I picked up at a market, which I somewhat unsuccessfully tried out earlier this year. I learned from my mistakes – i.e. I actually used the pattern properly rather than cutting the neckline using guesswork – and it came out wonderfully this time around.
