Afternoon tea is a favourite treat amongst yummy mummies and retro-hipster-types alike. There can surely be no better way to spend a girlie Saturday afternoon than gabbing over tea and cake – and nowhere better to do so than at Cox & Baloney, a lovely vintage shop and tearoom on Bristol’s hip Cheltenham Road.
Their oh-so-yum version (delightfully named ‘Dotty’s Afternoon Tea’) features a pot of tea (with regular top-ups) delectable finger sandwiches, slices of scrummy homemade cakes and scones with cream and strawberry jam – all served on beautiful vintage crockery. This is most definitely afternoon tea just as it should be.
We devoured the lot before having a mooch around the adjoining vintage shop, offering original vintage clothing, accessories and furniture. If you fancy popping along yourself, check out their website – http://www.coxandbaloney.com or look them up on Facebook. I fell in love with this shop and all the vintage loveliness within – and their gorgeous collection of floral teapots, cups and cake stands has inspired me to start one of my own. I feel an ebay hunt is in order.
Afternoon Teas is my favourite too, especially somewhere with a nice house blend and delicious cakes and sandwiches x
