While I love the convenience of digital magazines, there’s nothing quite like casually flicking through a printed mag on a relaxed Sunday morning with a cup of coffee in hand. You don’t have to scroll too far down my blog page to find out that I’m a long-time fan of 91 Magazine – I’ve even contributed a few articles myself – so I couldn’t wait to have a read of their first ever print issue, created in collaboration with Mollie Makes.
This 32-page special features the usual gorgeous home tours (which look even better in print), as well as an interview with the creator of Pygmy Cloud‘s whimsical designs in the Folksy Seller Spotlight, plus plenty of ideas for getting creative and crafty yourself. I particularly love the tips for decorating with paper – such an easy and effective way to add a unique touch to a room.
With the Christmas break fast approaching, this lovely issue will be just the ticket on those lazy, in-between days spent eating chocolates and doing very little.
You can purchase a copy for yourself on the 91 Magazine website – it’s an absolute steal at just £2.95 including P&P.

December is a time for curling up on the sofa with a cup of something warm (and, preferably, mulled) and something good to read – and, luckily, the latter has arrived in the form of 91 Magazine‘s new issue. And it’s just in time too, as it really has turned rather frosty.
This issue has plenty to inspire you during December and beyond. The gorgeous feature on winter pastels is a particular favourite of mine, as is the piece on trend predictions for 2015 (you heard them here first, folks). Continue reading “91 Magazine’s Latest Issue”
It’s hard to believe it’s September already, but indeed it is (and over halfway through, no less) and with it brings a new issue of one of my favourite reads, 91 Magazine. The 10th edition of the magazine is crammed, as usual, with inspirational home tours, first-class photography and must-do DIY projects – in fact, the adorable embroidered Liberty fabric napkins might just be one of my favourite-ever craft projects to be featured in 91 Magazine, but then I’m always a sucker for anything involving Liberty fabrics. I’ve long been a fan of 91 Magazine – when I first stumbled across it, I couldn’t believe all those lovely articles were available to read for free. As a writer myself, I know how much hard work goes into producing articles like those – the research, the editing, the photography and, inevitably, yet more proofreading, fact-checking and editing – and it’s something that is increasingly being undervalued in a world where free (but not necessarily good) content is readily available online. In terms on online publishing, 91 Magazine has perfected the format – beautiful photos, original content, appealing advertisers that completely reflect the crafty, independent spirit of the magazine. And, best of all, it’s free to read. Whenever I open up a new edition, I always head straight to the crafty bits, so I couldn’t wait to get reading their wonderful craft special filled with lots of tutorials and inspiration – just the thing to lift a grey January afternoon. As a newbie knitter, I’m especially excited to try making the adorable knitted bunting by Dottie Angel. Continue reading “91 Magazine Craft Special”
